Courtney is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician with a passion for supporting clients who struggle with disordered eating and eating disorders. She graduated with a Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics from the University of Newcastle and has been working as a dietitian in Sydney since 2013. Courtney has completed training in Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E) as well as Maudsley Family Based Therapy (FBT) and utilises evidenced-based approaches whilst working with her clients.
Courtney enjoys getting to know her clients and working with them to achieve their goals. She creates a comfortable space to explore eating challenges and provides dietary education, intervention and support to adults, adolescents and families. Courtney maintains values aligned with Intuitive Eating, the Non-Diet Approach and Health at Every Size (HAES), to create a compassionate approach to recovery and provide a non-judgemental place to explore your relationship with food and your body. Courtney aims to stand alongside her clients in their recovery journey and hopes to inspire them to strive towards enjoying food freedom.
Courtney offers supervision services to other dietitians working in the disordered eating and eating disorder space. I believe supervision should be a safe place where you can show up authentically, a place where its ok not to have all the answers, a place to feel that you’re not alone and a place to learn and grow into the clinician you want to be.
My background as a dietitian has predominately been in the private practice space working with children, adolescents and adults with eating disorders. I am trained in Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E), Family Based Therapy (FBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) informed and utilise many of these skills when supporting clients. I have also completed Motivational Interviewing (MI) training and employ an MI stance when working with clients and supervisees.
I am passionate about caring for people and love being able to use my knowledge and skills to empower fellow clinicians to build confidence in their own abilities. I am currently accepting supervisees for one-on-one supervision. Anyone from early career to proficient practitioner level are welcome. Get in contact with Myrtle Oak Clinic to learn more about supervision services.
