Kaila (she/her) is an Accredited Practising Dietitian who is passionate about supporting people experiencing eating disorders, disordered eating and body image concerns to develop a more peaceful and trusting relationship with food.
She provides a warm, safe and non-judgemental space where clients feel heard and supported. Kaila understands that seeking support around food can feel overwhelming, and works gently alongside clients to reduce fear, shame and confusion, meeting them where they are in their recovery journey.
Her approach is grounded in a non-diet philosophy and Health at Every Size®️ (HAES®️) principles, with a focus on compassion, flexibility and rebuilding trust with food and the body. She incorporates neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed and inclusive care principles, supporting clients to feel respected and safe in their individual identities and experiences. Kaila helps clients move away from rigid food rules towards a more intuitive and sustainable way of eating that supports both physical and emotional wellbeing.
Kaila has a particular interest in supporting adolescents and adults experiencing anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), emotional eating and body image concerns. She recognises that recovery is not linear and values supporting clients through both the challenges and achievements that recovery brings.
Kaila holds a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Honours) from the University of Newcastle and is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and member of Dietitians Australia. She is committed to ongoing development in the eating disorder field and providing inclusive, person-centred care.
Outside of work, Kaila enjoys playing tennis, teaching reformer Pilates, travelling, and spending time in the sunshine or ocean.
Kaila is accessible at our Broadmeadow clinic and via telehealth.
