George is a warm and empathetic psychologist who has previously worked in the school and private sectors. Her experience in the mental health field over more than 15 years has allowed her to form an understanding and connection to working with children, adolescents and adults presenting with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, perinatal concerns, adjustment to life stressors, and grief and loss. George uses a range of therapeutic approaches, such as Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
Having undertaken specific eating disorder training she is able to combine her passion and interest in supporting individuals and families build a stronger more positive relationship with body image, eating and weight. George supports holistic exploration of eating difficulties and using interventions to help individuals create sustainable improvements in their mental health and wellbeing.
In her spare time, George loves simple pleasures – reading in the sun, playing and listening to music, and finding second-hand bargains.
George is a Clinical Psychology Registrar and has completed a Masters of Clinical Psychology through the University of Newcastle. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and is an ANZAED Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician.
