Catherine is a registered provisional psychologist who is experienced in assessing and treating adolescents and adults with eating disorders. She has been a member of the Myrtle Oak team for over a year, and has many years of experience working in the health and disability sector. Catherine places a focus on providing a safe and comfortable space for you to share your experience, so that treatment can be tailored to your individual needs.

Catherine is trained in specific eating disorder treatments such as CBT-E and Family Based Therapy. She uses these, and other therapies, to support her clients to recovery from disordered eating, Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Binge Eating Disorder.

Catherine is also experienced in providing psychological support to those undergoing or those who have undergone bariatric surgery.

Catherine embraces diversity and works from the Health at Every Size approach. She engages evidence-based therapies to address body image concerns, and assist in the development of skills for distress tolerance, emotional regulation and management of anxiety. She engages mindfulness and self-compassion strategies to support you in the management of low mood, and recovery from eating disorder experiences.

Catherine aims to meet your individual needs, and works alongside our dietetic team to give you the best possible care. She is in her final stages of completing a Master of Professional Psychology at the University of Newcastle, and regularly participates in consultation and supervision with senior members of our team. As a client of Catherine’s, you can be assured that you are going to be well supported by our team and be receiving the most current evidenced based treatment options.

Catherine is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA) as a provisional psychologist and is an associate member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She is accessible for appointments at our Broadmeadow practice or is happy to undertake appointments online via our telehealth options as required.
