Katryna Henry is an accredited Mental Health Social Worker and member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), graduating with a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Newcastle. Katryna has over 20 years experience working on the Central Coast as a Social Worker in the health and welfare sector working with children, adolescents, adults and families. Katryna offers training and supervision of social work clinicians, students and other health professionals.

Katryna utilises a range of evidence based therapeutic techniques to maximise client outcomes and is experienced in the delivery of therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Treatment (CBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – Enhanced(CBT-E), Interpersonal Therapy(IPT), and Focused Psychological Strategies. Katyna has extensive experience working with mental health issues around depression, anxiety, body image, eating disorders, self esteem, parenting, family relationships, conflict and stress, bullying and anger management.
SPECIALITY AREAS
Over the past 10 years Katryna has specialised in the field of eating disorders, working with children, adolescents and adults living with an eating disorder and the associated co-morbidities of depression, anxiety, self esteem, OCD and poor body image. Katryna has received training and supervision in Maudsley Family Therapy by Westmead Children’s Hospital and has extensive experience in delivering this treatment. She delivers an enhanced version of CBT specifically designed for the treatment of eating disorders.
WORKING WITH FAMILIES
Through her expertise in family therapy Katryna is able to assist with common parenting concerns including the family conflict, fussy eating, communication and stresses that arise during the navigation through parenting and stages of development for children and adolescence. Katryna supports her clients using techniques such as mindfulness, relaxation strategies, skills training, problem solving, stress management, anger management, and the development of social skills.
Katryna is dedicated to working with children, young people and their families to overcome the burden associated mental health issues and is passionate about providing an inclusive practice that focuses on building strengths and resilience within relationships. She is dedicated to supporting parents and families in everyday challenges faced in our ever busy lifestyle and culture and works to promote positive body image, self esteem and positive relationships with food, health, self and others.
REBATES
Katryna is registered with Medicare to provide services under the Mental Health Better Access Scheme and Team Care Arrangements. Private health fund rebates are currently available with certain health insurance providers such as Teachers Health Fund and University Health Fundå.
