Catherine is a Registered Psychologist who works with adolescents and adults experiencing eating disorders, body image concerns, and a range of mental health challenges. She is passionate about helping people build a more peaceful relationship with food, eating, their bodies, and themselves.

Catherine understands that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, particularly when you may already be struggling. She aims to create a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported. Her approach is collaborative and person-centred, recognising that every individual’s experiences, strengths, and goals are unique. Clients often appreciate Catherine’s calm, genuine, and down-to-earth nature, which helps create a safe environment for exploring challenges and working towards meaningful change.

Catherine’s interest in eating disorder treatment developed during her earlier training within a multidisciplinary eating disorder service, where she worked alongside psychologists and dietitians supporting adolescents and adults experiencing eating disorders. This experience left a lasting impression and strengthened her passion for supporting individuals and families through recovery. She is delighted to once again be working in an area of practice that she finds both meaningful and rewarding.

Catherine has undertaken extensive training in evidence-based eating disorder treatment and is experienced in supporting individuals across a range of eating and body image concerns. She has completed training in Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E) and Family-Based Treatment (FBT) for adolescents experiencing eating disorders and remains committed to ongoing professional development in this area.

While Catherine has a strong interest in eating disorders and body image concerns, she also supports adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma-related difficulties, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), low self-esteem, life transitions, and other mental health concerns. Through her work with clients from diverse backgrounds and circumstances, she has developed experience supporting individuals facing complex mental health presentations, significant life stressors, and personal challenges.

Catherine is passionate about helping clients build resilience, strengthen coping skills, improve emotional wellbeing, and move towards a life that feels meaningful and aligned with their values. She works collaboratively with clients to understand the factors contributing to their difficulties and to develop practical, sustainable strategies that support recovery and lasting change.

Catherine primarily works from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework and is experienced in delivering Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E) for eating disorders. She also draws upon a range of evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and Solution-Focused Therapy, tailoring treatment to each client’s individual needs, preferences, and goals.

Where appropriate, Catherine works closely with dietitians, GPs, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and comprehensive care. She values the benefits of a multidisciplinary approach and recognises the importance of supporting both individuals and families throughout the recovery process.

Prior to becoming a psychologist, Catherine worked across a variety of roles supporting individuals and families. These experiences continue to shape her compassionate, practical, and person-centred approach to therapy and contribute to her ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

Catherine completed her psychology training at the University of Newcastle and is a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc. She is committed to ethical, evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development to ensure her clients receive the highest standard of care.
