Phillipa is an Accredited Dietitian who early on in her career, formed a strong interest and passion to work with young people and their families, adolescents, and adults experiencing mental health issues, particularly Eating Disorders. Using an empathetic approach to guide and encourage clients back towards intuitive eating, Phillipa combines her knowledge and experience to help clients form a healthy and confident relationship with food and eating. Using a non-diet approach and aligning with the Health at Every Size (HAES) model, she focuses on both physical health and the psychological factors that contribute to overall health outcomes and wellbeing.
Phillipa works to understand the psychological barriers and challenges in relation to the client’s thoughts and behaviours around food, thus her approach involves applying the principles of nutritional science in a supportive, practical and client – centred manner. Having also studied a Bachelor of Science (Psychology), she is able to combine the mind, food and body elements to better understand her clients and support them through the stages of recovery.
She will help her clients feel empowered to create structured eating habits, establish adequate nutrition and to find pleasure and confidence to consume a variety of all foods. Phillipa aims to help clients find enjoyment, flexibility, and freedom in food again.
Phillipa is an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Accredited Nutritionist and a member of the Dietitians Association of Australia. Phillipa graduated with a Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics (Honours) from the University of Newcastle.
